Insurgent

 Now i wanna tell you about the sequel of Divergent, i'm sure you've read my last post where i express my feeling when i read Insurgent. Seriously though Insurgent is full of surprises and if you haven't read the book yet maybe you shouldn't read this post cause' i'll give you oh so much spoilers.

Anyway in this second book Veronica Roth decided to give us more heart attack. The story continues from when Tris and friends (including her hot boyfriend, Four) running away from Erudite and Dauntless-traitor. In this book we can see and feel how Tris traumatized by everything that happened. She grieves for her parents's death. She’s also trying to cope with the guilt of having to kill a friend and it slowly kills her because she can't talk to anyone about it. She's scared that if someone know that she killed her best friend they'll look at her differently and think of her as a coward. She can't forgive herself and the guilt is slowly killing her. She can't touch a gun without seeing Will's face when she shot him and that's really heartbreaking.

The plot though is insane. When i say that the book is full of surprises i'm not kidding. It will either make you love the book even more or think that Veronica Roth has gone too far.The surprise goes from the sudden appearance of Tobias supposedly dead mother, Evelyn Eaton who apparently is the leader of factionless. it seems like the factionless 'member' are gathering together and it make their number bigger than any faction. Then the story goes crazy again when Tris almost kill herself countless times. Sure what she does is very useful but it changes her. She slowly become the Dauntless Tris rather than Divergent Tris. She'll risk her lives for information, lie to Tobias more time than i care to count and stalking Marcus.

But no matter how crazy Tris has become she still a normal girl with feelings and i love Veronica Roth for not making her a killing machine. She doesn't wanna kill people if it's not necessary and even if it is she still try to just hurt them not kill them. Tris also not a holy person she makes mistake and she realize them, regret them but she moves on, she also has trust issue when it comes to Tobias parents. She doesn't trust Evelyn and while she's curious about Marcus's intention she still hates him. 

Oh and for those who are looking for the love story between Tris and Four you'll either relieved that there's no third party here (usually every book i've read has a third party to make the main characters relationship a mess) or you'll bit your nail cause Tris and Four fighting ALL THE TIME here. They refuse to tell each other their secrets (which i'm agree with cause it won't be a secret anymore if you tell someone plus there's something called 'privacy' you know) but Tobias always demand Tris to spill all her secrets and thank God she didn't. Oh and there's Tris problem with keeping promises. She lie so many times to Tobias, usually she lie to him saying she won't do anything stupid but she did it anyway and almost kill herself in the procces.

But apart from all that ,the thing that really shock me is Caleb's betrayal. I mean c'mon how can i don't see that coming? I already kind of figure things out when i read a book but this really shock me. Caleb, Tris's only living family member is a traitor. Which makes me pity tris even more. Her parents are dead, her brother is a traitor, her boyfriend doesn't trust her when she said she need information from Marcus, her best friend hates her because she kill her other best friend, and her enemy has make her number one target not to mention she has to see people who has becomes her friends died partly because of her and oh yeah she's being tortured by our beloved Jeaniene. Tris's live is seriously screwed. 

Oh and the ending. well can't say too much about that since i'm also a little confused by the whole 'Edith Prior' thing. Who the hell is Edith Prior? sure she has Tris's surname but in which way is she related to Tris? Is she her grandmother? from which side? from what i can remember, her father's mother is from Erudite which very unlikely to be Edith Prior . I think Edith Prior might be from Abnegation or even Dauntless, well, Tris's grandmother from her mother's side is a Dauntless leader. But i don't really understand. I mean it must be her grandmother right? it was mention that she's the second generation of Prior which makes her parents the first generation and her grandmother the 'original'. Well, i dunno maybe i just have to wait for Veronica Roth's explanation in the third book that will be publish in fall 2013.
