Divergent

Ok everyone, this is my new favorite book and trust me when i say that i enjoy this book more than The Hunger Games.  At first i bought this book because my friend told me to, he said and i quote "This book is bloody amazing and i swear to God you'll regret ur whole life if you don't read this book" I thought he exaggerate but damn, he's totally right. Ok, here's the synopsis and do not judge this book from it's synopsis cause' the whole story is so much more amazing

The world that Verinica Roth created for DIVERGENT takes place in a dystopian society set in Chicago. In this society, people are divided into factions. There are five factions. Those who blamed aggression formed Amity; those who blamed ignorance became the Erudite; those who blamed duplicity created Candor; those who blamed selfishness made Abnegation; and those who blamed cowardice were the Dauntless.  Each faction is for people with certain personalities and attitude. But you have a choice to choose for yourself which way you want to go and how you want to live your life. On the annual Choosing Day, every 16-year-old must choose to join one of the five pre-determined factions. They can choose to stay with their family or leave them and be seen as traitors. For some people it's obvious where they belong and it's clear what to choose without even having to think about it, but for a certain kind of people like Tris, the "Divergent rebels", it's not so easy to choose.

What i really really love about this book is how the author develop her characters. For example Tris, the stiff, a girl whom everyone see as a loser become this amazing girl whom everyone see as a threat and don't you think that the author exaggerate her character. No. Tris is always a brave and amazingly smart person since the begining but unfortunately for her, she's from Abnegation and to move to Dauntless, everyone only see her as the stiff (their nickname for Abnegation people) but slowly she gained confidence and show everyone who she really is. I honestly love Tris even more than Katniss. What i love is that she's sure of herself, she doesn't regret her choice, well maybe sometimes she does but with a damn good reason. 

Tris always see herself as a selfish person which is proved to be very wrong. She's very selfless but only to her love ones and i really like that. I mean how much main character in a story that could be cruel and cold when she needed to be, not to mention she doesn't regret what she did no matter how ruthless it is . She's unforgivable. One of her friends did a mistake, a big one, and she coldly refuse his apology. very coldly. And when she has a chance to fight her enemy she doesn't hold back, she beat her up really good and doesn't even feel a silght guilt. And the other amazing thing is that Veronica Roth (the author) didn't make any love triangle which is very good and she also didn't make the love story as a main problem, no, there's a bigger problem here. Tris and Four (Tris's instructor and super hot -my new imaginary bf- boyfriend) do have their sweet moment but they don't realy cuddle,etc nor they fight all the time and suddenly got together. But this couple is seriously one of the best couple that i grow to love more than Katniss and Peeta.

Anyway, the 2nd book already came out last month in english, guess i have to wait at least a few months to get the indonesian copy but screw that i'll just buy the english one -___- from what i've heard Insurgent is just as amazing as divergent but with a bigger problem and with a more reckless Tris, whom begin to show her Dauntless side more and more. Can't wait to read that.
